02 - Good Characters - Model It

The people who live by the character ethic have strong roots, deep root. They withstand the stresses of life, and they keep growing and progressing.

Stephen R. Covey

There really is no substitute to knowing, understanding, and embodying the kind of person that you want to become.

Reflection

It is easy to get caught up with all the cares we have in the world. Social media makes it so easy to get distracted too. I am fortunate that I am able to pull back or pull away from all of it.

When we truly give time for ourselves to examine what we want and need in life, we are able to slowly tune towards it. But I do no say that it is without blessing from Our Almighty Father. Nothing really comes to fruition as well when our plans are our plans alone and is not in the service of God.

To me, and I hope to most of you as well, knowing our purpose plays a central role in our ambitions and actions. That is the character trait that we must develop ourselves toward. Here are some of my values principles:

  • Integrity
  • Intelligence
  • Effectiveness
  • Meaningful Work
  • Wealth

And yes, I do value wealth as I need it in conceptual and financial meaning to give my family the best life that I can give them.

Weekly Long Term Goals

  • Lead self and if possible others to self-development.
  • Contribute more to Company Growth.
    • Open more Reading Groups - Atomic Habits next.
  • Get back to contributing to a community.
    • Give a Presentation in Community Events
      • PyConf Mini (Cebu)

Action Steps

  • Develop a long term strategic plan for my career. This involves identifying a field or role that aligns with your values of meaningful work and effectiveness. Research industries, companies, or projects that are known for their integrity and have a track record of creating positive impact. Simultaneously, build a financial plan that details your wealth-building goals, including potential investments, savings targets, and diversification strategies. This action directly connects your career path with your financial aspirations, ensuring your work is both fulfilling and financially rewarding.
  • Invest in continuous learning and skill development. To cultivate intelligence and enhance my effectiveness, I need to commit to a regular schedule of learning. This could mean taking online courses in a new field, pursuing certificates, or reading industry-leading books and research papers. Share my knowledge by mentoring others or contributing to open-source projects. This not only deepens my understanding but also builds up reputation for integrity and expertise, which can lead to more opportunities and greater wealth.
  • Build a network of high-integrity, like-minded individuals. A network is a powerful tool for achieving your goals. Seek out and connect with people who demonstrate the values I admire, particularly integrity and effectiveness. I need to participate in professional groups, attend conferences, or join masterminds where you can engage in meaningful discussions and collaborate on projects. This network can provide valuable insights, open doors to new opportunities for meaning work, and offer a support system that aligns with my ethical standards.

Personal Affirmations

  • I create my own success by leading with integrity and focusing my experience and knowledge towards meaningful outcomes.
  • My effectiveness grows with every challenge I overcome, bringing me close to my purpose and increasing ability to create wealth.
  • I am a person of integrity, and I attract meaningful work and abundance into my life by staying true to my values.
